Keep Santa safe

The festive season is upon us and no doubt preparations are underway to welcome the big bearded man in the red suit into your home this weekend.

But for those of us who acknowledge that maybe all those presents don’t arrive following Santa’s descent down the chimney, consider this, is there a risk that your most important visitor of the year could get stuck in your automated gates?

Could you be responsible for the crime of the year, Father Christmas being struck down following an electric gate accident?

House prices: Have they actually gone up in your neighbourhood?



House prices in more than half of neighbourhoods in England and Wales are still lower in real terms than a decade ago, BBC analysis has revealed. In 58% of wards, residential properties are selling for less now, after accounting for inflation, than they were in 2007.

Councils buying homeless one-way train tickets



A number of councils in England are regularly buying one-way train tickets for homeless people out of their area, the Victoria Derbyshire show has found.Some spent more than £1,000 a year on fares and charity Homeless Link called the scale "worrying".

Bombardier to partner Airbus on C-Series jets



European aerospace firm Airbus is to take a majority stake in Bombardier's C-Series jet project. The C-Series has faced a series of problems, most recently a trade dispute in the US that imposed a 300% import tariff on the plane.
